I Fancied a Ploughmans so Made Soda Bread!

No bread in the house, and it's almost lunch time.


So I decide to quickly rustle up some seeded soda bread.  Delicious!  And so, so simple, quick and easy to make.


I sifted 600g wholemeal flour (tipping in the "bits" that didn't go through the sieve), with 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 2 tsp cream of tartar, 2 tsp salt.  Then mixed in 300ml milk and mixed with my hands to form a soft dough.


I gave it all a bit of a soft kneed, rolled in seeds (about 75g pumpkin seeds) to make them stick to the dough then placed on a floured baking sheet.  I cut a cross in the top, the baked in a pre heated hot oven at 200C for 25 minutes.


So, so, so quick!  No leaving the dough to rise ... so almost instant lunch!


Great bread to eat with strong cheddar and pickle.
